Compliance with depot medication and readmission to hospital of patients with schizophrenia

Justin Gardner, Senior Registrar and O.W. Hill, Consultant Psychiatrist

St Luke's Woodside Hospital, London N10 3HU

This paper examines the relationship between non-compliance with depot medication and readmission to hospital of patients with schizophrenia. Non-compliance is associated with being of no fixed abode and readmission under the Mental Health Act. The merits of a community supervision order are discussed.
